Proven Wisdom That No One Tells You These Days...

Throughout history there have been many great sages that have spoken the truest wisdom, but no one had the down to earth, plain talk, of Will Rogers. Will, who died in a plane crash in Alaska with bush pilot, Wiley Post, was one of the greatest political/country/cowboy sages ever known and his wisdom is more relevant today than ever.

Here are some of his best sayings that can make a difference in your life and the way you think...

1. Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco. (self-explanatory)
2. Never kick a cow chip on a hot day! (so many metaphors for this one)
3. There are two theories to arguing with a woman. Neither works.
4. Never miss a good chance to shut up. (Man, I wish I learned this sooner in life)
5. Always drink upstream from the herd.
6. If you find yourself in hole, stop digging. (one of the most important pieces of advice you'll ever get)
7. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back in your pocket (love this one)
8. There are three kinds of men: 
   1. The ones that learn by reading.
   2. The ones that learn by observation, and
   3. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out themselves.
9. Good judgement comes from experience....and a lot of that comes from bad judgement.                        (we learn best from our failures...)
10. If you're riding ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there (don't forget to bring those that help you succeed along with you)
11. Lettin' the cat out of the bag is whole lot easier than puttin' it back in...                                                                   (be upfront, honest, and act with integrity)
12. After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him. The moral:  When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!
